The Anti-Corruption Bureau continues its informational meetings with interested groups regarding the Law of Georgia on the "Foreign Agents Registration Act."

The Anti-Corruption Bureau continues its informational meetings with interested groups regarding the Law of Georgia on the "Foreign Agents Registration Act."

Today, on May 22, we met with representatives of international organizations operating in Georgia, members of the non-governmental sector, and private individuals interested in the topic.

Unfortunately, there is often incorrect or deliberately false information shared about this law through different channels, which aims to mislead the people of Georgia as well as the international and non-governmental sectors.

Our meetings aim to clarify the true objectives, content, and operational mechanisms of the law and are guided by the best interests of Georgian society.

During the meeting, attendees received comprehensive information about the complex conditions and areas of activity that, according to the law, require registration. The discussion also covered areas of good-faith activity that are exempt from the registration requirement under the law, such as religious, charitable, academic, scientific, or artistic activities.

A detailed instruction was presented on the procedures and forms required for registration.

The remainder of the meeting was dedicated to answering questions from attendees and providing further information on specific details of interest to the participants.

Within its mandate, the Anti-Corruption Bureau will continue to hold informational and consultative meetings with the public.
