As you know, in accordance with Georgian legislation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau is entrusted with ensuring transparency through legal oversight of the financial activities of political unions, electoral subjects, and individuals with declared electoral objectives.
This also includes the enforcement of the “Foreign Agents Registration Act,” as well as the monitoring of grant issuance, receipt, and their purposeful use.
In recent weeks, an organized disinformation campaign has been underway, targeting both the relevant legislation and the activities of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. False information has been deliberately spread in an attempt to mislead the public about these legal processes.
This campaign has taken on a blatantly anti-state and unethical character—especially when socially vulnerable groups were misinformed, with claims that the Bureau was demanding the disclosure of personal and medical data of beneficiaries of social programs.
On June 20, 2025, a protest was held outside the office of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
What is particularly troubling is that participants in this protest included members of vulnerable communities who had been deliberately misled by wealthy NGOs with specific agendas.
We personally met with the participants of the rally and provided them with accurate information regarding the ongoing developments. We unequivocally confirmed that the information requested by court order pertains solely to the activities carried out within the framework of grant agreements, and does not involve requesting personal data of individuals receiving services from these organizations, including information related to their health or legal advocacy. We would like to once again emphasize that such information will not be requested either during the current or any future legal proceedings.
We declare our readiness to continue an open and constructive dialogue in any format with all interested parties, in order to eliminate any ambiguity and ensure that our citizens have accurate information regarding the ongoing processes.
