Prioritizing public interests and conscientious use of public powers ensures transparency and accountability in the public sector, which increases public trust in public institutions.
As of August 10, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Bureau's mandate has been expanded to include managing issues of ethics, integrity and accountability in the public service.
The Department of Ethics and Integrity Management was established in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the main functions of which are:
- Development of policy documents on ethics, integrity and accountability issues and monitoring of their implementation;
- Development and implementation of relevant programs;
- Evaluation of the existing mechanisms for the protection of ethics, integrity and accountability norms in the public service, issuing relevant recommendations and monitoring their implementation;
- Study of the practice of compliance with ethics norms by civil servants and conducting relevant researches;
- Development of a methodology for identifying violations of norms of ethics, integrity and accountability in public service;
- Assessing the risks of integrity in public service;
- Implementation of consulting activities, including providing confidential consultations;
- Finding the best international practices and preparing relevant proposals;
- Analysis of the implementation of recommendations issued by international organizations on integrity issues.
